Vikings were most renowned for their skill at looting and raiding, but they were also successful merchants and farmers who settled in the lands they invaded. They traveled from Britain to the North Atlantic and from Russia to the Middle East in search of a better life.

History recalls many warriors and the brave deeds that earned them that title, but few warriors influenced the course of history as greatly as did the Vikings. Their culture lasted for 300 years from 793 AD to the 11th century. They profoundly influenced every land they touched and their impact on the world has lasted into modern times.
